We’re now recruiting for a Mobile Maintenance Electrician to join our Readymix team, working from our Agecroft site in Salford, and supporting operations across multiple Readymix (RMX) plants in the North West. This role is ideal for candidates based around Manchester, Bolton, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport, Ashton-under-Lyne, Warrington, Wigan, St Helens, Chorley, and surrounding areas.
What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting to the Production Manager, you’ll play a key role in keeping our production facilities running safely, efficiently and reliably. You will:
- Respond to plant breakdowns and carry out efficient, safe repairs
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance to minimise downtime
- Support continuous improvement and asset reliability initiatives
- Help develop and improve our Computer Maintenance Management System
- Maintain and update procedures, documentation and compliance within the Electrical Engineering function
- Work Monday-Friday days, with optional overtime and on-call flexibility to support production
This is a mobile role and includes a company van, so you must hold a full UK driving licence (max 6 points).
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for a Maintenance Electrician with a strong engineering foundation and solid hands-on experience in heavy industrial environments. You will ideally have:
- 18th Edition BS7671
- Level 3 Apprenticeship, ONC, or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering
- Experience in Readymix, aggregates, plant production or heavy engineering
- Strong working knowledge of Industrial LV power distribution systems
- Experience with AC drives, motors, and predictive maintenance
- Good understanding of PLC interrogation tools and techniques
- Background in TPM and Continuous Improvement
- Ability to carry out electrical testing, inspections and interpret schematics
- Understanding of mechanical systems including hydraulics and pneumatics
- Experience with CMMS systems, RCA and FMEA methodologies
- A strong safety mindset and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
