You will receive excellent remuneration and benefits.If you’re a reliable, safety-focused driver who enjoys being part of a team and wants a role with varied routes, autonomy and strong earning potential, we’d love to hear from you.What you’ll be doingReporting to the Area Plant & Transport Manager the role of LGV Driver C+E (Low Loader) will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a variety of company vehicles including low loaders, fuel bowsers, stores delivery vehicles, and bitumen spray tankers. This role supports Tarmac’s operational delivery across the region, ensuring the timely transportation of plant, materials, fuel, and the application of bitumen on freshly laid asphalt/tarmac.The role of LGV Driver C+E (Low Loader) will be responsible for:Operate low loaders to transport heavy Plant and machinery to / from sitesDeliver fuel safely to fixed and mobile plant in line with environmental and safety regulationsTransport stores, materials, and equipment to operational sitesOperate spray tankers to apply bitumen safely and accurately on freshly laid asphalt/tarmacCarry out daily vehicle checks, complete defect reporting, and ensure vehicles are roadworthyEnsure correct load securing, handling, and unloading practicesHandle hazardous materials (fuel and bitumen) safely in accordance with ADR and COSHH regulations.Carry out basic vehicle care (cleaning, refuelling, oil/water checks) and maintain cleanliness and organisation of vehicles, fuel storage, and stores equipmentThe role of LGV Driver C+E works a varying work pattern and includes excellent remuneration for both overnight and weekend working, which is expected as part of this role.What we’re looking forThe ideal candidate for the role of LGV Driver C+E (Low Loader) will have Cat C+E licence and a valid Driver CPC qualification as well as driving experience ideally gained within a similar role/industrySuitable candidates for the role of LGV Driver C+E (Low Loader) will also have:Working experience as an HGV Driver C+E (Low Loader)Understanding of load security, lifting operations, and Plant machinery types (training provided if required)Willingness to learn bitumen spraying operations and gain role-specific certification/trainingFlexibility to travel and stay overnight when required for training or operational needsStrong awareness of health, safety, and environmental responsibilities, particularly around hot bitumen handling and applicationAbility to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing prioritiesGood communication skills and a professional approachStrong focus on safety and complianceReliable, punctual, and professional approach to workOpen-minded, flexible attitude, willing to learn new skillsStrong problem-solving and practical thinking skillADR - Carriage of Dangerous Goods certification (advantageous but training provided)Knowledge of bitumen handling, heating, and spraying processesMechanical awareness of Plant equipment and heavy vehiclesADR Carriage of Dangerous Goods certification for fuel and bitumen transport (advantageous)Based out of our Agecroft site in Salford this role is easily commutable from Salford, Liverpool, Bolton, Bury, Wigan, Rochdale, Stockport and surrounding areas.Why TarmacAt Tarmac, who you are matters.
