Our Tarmac Land and Natural Resources team are recruiting a Graduate Real Estate Surveyor to join our 2026 Cohort starting in September 2026. The Graduate Programme includes the opportunity to join our Land & Natural Resources Team based out of our Stancombe Office.

It is important for us to ensure the land we own is managed responsibly, sustainably restored and maintained for the benefit of our business, local people, biodiversity and the communities in which we operate in. Working as a graduate in our Land and Natural Resources team will see you playing a key role in the future sustainability of our business. As a Real Estate Graduate, you will support the Estates team in managing and developing Tarmac's diverse property portfolio. Your role will involve:

  • Assisting the Head of Estates and Estates Managers with land and mineral acquisition, development, and strategic estate management.
  • Working within planning consents for mineral extraction and associated operations.
  • Liaising with a range of stakeholders to support the achievement of land disposal targets, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Reviewing the land development portfolio and working closely with Development Managers to identify and secure planning schemes that enhance value.
  • Supporting initiatives to enhance rental income and unlock development opportunities.
  • Ensuring compliance with planning permissions, lease agreements, and tenure arrangements.
  • Building a strong understanding of property ownership, landlord-tenant dynamics, and planning policy frameworks.
  • Coordinating and reviewing planning applications, including interpreting specialist consultant reports.
  • Engaging with key stakeholders such as local communities, statutory bodies, landlords, and planning authorities.
  • Managing relationships with landlords and tenants to maintain positive and productive partnerships.
  • Preparing and reviewing planning documentation, consultant reports, and written communications.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve financial performance across the property portfolio.
  • Supporting the development and use of Tarmac's Electronic Property Information System.
  • Participating in the Graduate Core Skills Development Programme to broaden your business knowledge and professional network.

As part of the graduate rotation programme, you will gain hands-on experience across key areas of Land & Natural Resources (LNR), including Asset Management, Strategic Planning, and Land Development. This structured rotation is designed to give you a well-rounded and practical foundation, helping you build the skills, insight, and confidence needed to launch a successful career in surveying. You will also receive dedicated support as you work towards your RICS APC accreditation, guided by our Tarmac-led APC Forum. During the two-year graduate role, you will have the opportunity to rotate around the different charters within LNR to ensure you build broad experience across the disciplines. This will include a placement in Asset Management, Strategic Planning and Land Development. As part of your graduate journey, you will take part in our Core Skills Graduate Development Programme - a structured series of 9 modules delivered over two years. This programme is designed to build your business acumen, enhance your soft skills, and create valuable networking opportunities to support your transition into your destination role.

Essential qualifications

  • Educated to Degree level in a RICS APC accredited degree
  • Willing to work in different locations across UK and Ireland
  • Full UK Manual Car Driving License
