As an Operative, you’ll play a vital role in our site operations, reporting directly to the Site Manager. You’ll be hands-on across various areas including raw materials, storage, production, dispatch, and housekeeping — all while maintaining the highest safety standards in line with CRH and SHE protocols.
This is a full-time role working on a rotating shift pattern of 6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm, 10pm – 6am. Due to the site’s location and shift times, having your own transport is highly recommended.
What You’ll Be DoingYour day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Achieving daily production targets
- Recording and reporting quality data
- Loading/unloading products from plant and vehicles
- Ensuring accurate and timely dispatch to meet customer expectations
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site
The ideal Operative will be able to demonstrate proven experience working within a similar production and despatch environment. In addition, experience in any of the following areas would be beneficial to your application:
- Good communication skills and strong numeracy
- A mobile plant licence for diesel counterbalance forklift truck
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Previous experience with manual handling

The role is based at our Swains Park plant in Swadlincote, Derbyshire. The site is easily accessible from Coalville, Loughborough, Lichfield, Cannock, Rugeley, Stafford, Burton Upon Trent, Derby, Castle Donnington, Melton Mowbray, Solihull and the surrounding areas.
