Tarmac is the UK's leading sustainable building materials and construction solutions business, and we're looking for a driven, analytical and commercially minded Estimator to support our Pave team in securing major work packages across the North East region.
About the Role
As an Estimator, you'll play a key part in supporting the Commercial Manager to deliver our regional contracting strategy. You'll be responsible for pricing work, managing the tendering process, and helping secure new opportunities that align with business goals. This role is ideal for someone experienced in highways, surfacing, civils, or infrastructure estimating, who wants to contribute to a long-term pipeline of work and build strong customer relationships.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop and submit competitive, high-quality tenders that align with business capacity, margins, and risk profiles
- Support the Commercial Manager in building a strong pipeline of long-term opportunities
- Build and maintain commercially beneficial relationships with new and existing clients in the Highways sector
- Conduct robust appraisals of completed tenders to continually improve accuracy and performance
- Ensure full compliance with Tarmac processes, policies and review procedures
- Understand customer needs in detail and develop bids tailored to their requirements
- Contribute to the delivery of regional commercial objectives and wider business strategy
