We are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Highways team based at our Flax Bourton office in Bristol, supporting a range of projects across the Southwest & South Wales region. This role is easily commutable from Weston-super-Mare, Bristol, Chepstow, Newport, Cardiff, Gloucester and surrounding areas.

What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting directly to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you’ll bring commercial expertise from highways, surfacing, civil engineering or similar project environments. Your responsibilities will include:
- Recording, monitoring and reviewing the financial performance of contracts
- Preparing and submitting monthly applications for payment and final accounts
- Producing monthly CVRs and forecasts (internal and client-facing)
- Securing customer payments within agreed contract terms
- Procuring subcontractors and managing subcontractor accounts
- Ensuring full compliance with Tarmac and client processes
- Issuing Early Warnings and managing Compensation Events under NEC contracts
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities to support project success
What We’re Looking For
We’re open to candidates with a Degree in Quantity Surveying, HND, or those who are qualified by experience (QBE). You will also bring:
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts
- A passion for safety and doing things the right way
- Proven commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical ability
- Good numeracy skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
- Willingness to travel across sites in the region
- Good IT skills, especially spreadsheets, databases and ability to learn bespoke systems
- Experience within the PAVE / Road Surfacing sector preferred
