We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to take ownership of maintenance operations at our Mountsorrel Quarry. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll motivate a skilled team, maximise plant performance, and play a key part in delivering safe, reliable and efficient operations. What you'll be doing

  • Lead and develop a maintenance team, driving engagement and accountability
  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes
  • Manage breakdown response, defect management and root cause analysis
  • Drive improvements in plant productivity, OEE and operational performance
  • Oversee inspections, maintenance checks and statutory compliance
  • Promote best practice in maintenance management and continuous improvement
  • Control maintenance-related costs, including labour and overtime
  • Resolve technical issues and support engineering projects
  • Manage contractor relationships and service agreements
  • Champion a strong health, safety and zero-harm culture across site

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Supervisor, Engineering Supervisor, Maintenance Manager or Engineering Manager within a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Understanding of electrical systems
  • Experience leading and developing teams
  • Confidence challenging standards and holding teams accountable for quality and delivery
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement techniques
  • IT literacy, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Desirable HNC/HND, recognised apprenticeship or BEng in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, FMEA and Continuous Improvement methodologies
