Road Surfacing Operative – Tarmac Agecroft Contracting
Location: Manchester (North West Region)
Experienced in road surfacing? Confident operating surfacing plant? Looking for steady work across major highways projects in Manchester and the North West? If so, this could be the role for you.
What you’ll be doing
- Operating road surfacing plant and equipment such as pavers, rollers, tractors, chippers and associated machinery
- Working with hot coated materials on live construction and highways environments
- Laying coated materials in line with specifications and BS tolerances
- Carrying out day‑to‑day plant checks and basic maintenance
- Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards
- Playing an active role in zero harm, behavioural safety and site compliance
- Promoting safe working practices and challenging unsafe behaviours on site
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience in asphalt laying and road surfacing
- Proven ability to operate surfacing plant, with relevant plant tickets
- Experience working on larger infrastructure or motorway projects
- CSCS card (preferred)
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a gang
- Good communication skills and a proactive, hands on attitude
- Flexible approach to working hours and locations
- Strong commitment to Health, Safety, Environment and Quality standards
Location
as well as Manchester this role is easily accessible from Stockport, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale, Oldham, Wigan, Warrington, Preston, Altrincham, Sale, Wilmslow, Macclesfield, Glossop and the surrounding areas.
