We are currently looking for a Relief Multi Skilled Operative based out of our Ashbury Plant in Manchester covering quarries and asphalt plants in the North West region.
This is a mobile role and a vehicle will be provided.
As Relief Multi Skilled Operative you will work on the day-to‑day site operations driving mobile plant and other site duties, working with the team to the site plan, ensuring that stocks are maintained and replenished in good time.
- What You’ll Be Doing
- Operating Mobile Plant, Asphalt Plant and Crushing Plant
- Weighbridge Duties
- Working with other members of the team to ensure that customers receive good quality material and on-time deliveries
- Assisting the Supervisors on site with meeting daily/weekly production targets
- Following SHE policies and procedures
- Ensuring Plant conforms with safety requirements at all times
- Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality responsibilities
- Inspections on the plant, acting on defects and implement remedial action
- Ensuring that plant availability is maximised
- Working to keep housekeeping around site to a high standard
- What We’re Looking For
Suitable candidates for the role of Relief Multi Skilled Operative will ideally have previous experience working in an Asphalt, Readymix Plant, Quarry but experience gained within heavy industrial manufacturing environments would prove highly beneficial.
Suitable candidates will also demonstrate
- Previous experience operating both mobile and fixed Plant
- Good Timekeeping – flexible as to the site requirements
- Good communication skills and confidence to bring problems to the attention of Line Management
- Full UK manual car driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
- Strong IT skills
- Shovel License (preferred)
This role is based out of our Ashbury Plant in Manchester covering various quarries and asphalt plants in the North West region so if you live in Stockport, Ashton-under-Lyme, Oldham, Rochdale, Cheadle, Sale, Altrincham or any of the surrounding areas then you would be ideally located.
This role is working 48 hours a week Monday to Saturday.
Overtime may be incurred due to travelling to and from different sites to meet with the production needs in the region so flexibility to accommodate this is required.
