Provide strategic and operational leadership to the North Readymix technical function, ensuring the highest standards of safety, product quality, and compliance.
Drive technical excellence to support commercial growth, particularly through value-added product (VAP) development, while improving operational efficiency, sustainability performance, and customer satisfaction. This role is integral to delivering innovation, enabling major project success, and strengthening the business's competitive position.
Ensure all technical activities support safe systems of work and environmental compliance. Ensure full compliance with BS EN 206, BS 8500, and company quality standards. Drive improvements in plant performance through data-led analysis and intervention. Lead root cause analysis and resolution of quality issues, complaints, and non-conformances.
Commercial Support & Growth
- Partner with commercial teams to identify and deliver profitable growth opportunities.
- Provide technical expertise to support tenders, specifications, and major project delivery.
- Promote lower-carbon concrete solutions and sustainable material usage.
- Act as a key member of the regional management team, contributing to business strategy and performance.
- Work cross-functionally with operations, commercial, logistics, and procurement teams.
- Engage with customers, specifiers, contractors, and industry bodies to enhance reputation and influence.
