We're currently recruiting for a Mobile Multi Skilled Operative to join our team based at Cairdshill Quarry, Keith, supporting operations across multiple sites throughout the Caledonian region. This is a varied, hands-on role that combines plant operation, site maintenance, problem-solving and teamwork, with the added benefit of travelling across different locations and environments. A company van will be provided. This role is easily accessible from Inverurie, Insch, Turriff, Banff, Elgin, Kinloss, Lossiemouth, Keith and surrounding areas.

What you'll be doing

  • Working as part of our operational team, you'll help produce essential construction materials while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and environmental performance.
  • Your responsibilities will include:
    • Operating mobile plant including loading shovels and excavators
    • Operating mobile and static processing plant
    • Carrying out weighbridge duties and supporting site operations
    • Performing routine inspections and basic maintenance
    • Maintaining high housekeeping standards across site
    • Working closely with colleagues to ensure customers receive quality materials on time
    • Championing a strong safety culture and helping drive our goal of Zero Harm
    • Supporting compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards
    • Undertaking additional operational duties as required, with full training provided

What we're looking for

  • We're looking for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in doing things properly and is keen to develop their skills within a quarrying and aggregates environment.
  • You'll ideally have:
    • Experience within quarrying, aggregates, construction, manufacturing or a similar heavy industry environment
    • Experience operating loading shovels, excavators or processing plant (preferred but not essential)
    • A flexible approach and willingness to support multiple sites
    • Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
    • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • A commitment to safe working practices
    • Good IT skills
    • A full UK driving licence
    • A shovel or excavator licence would be advantageous, but training can be provided for the right candidate.
