Tarmac, the UK’s leading sustainable construction materials business, is seeking a permanent Mobile Maintenance Electrician for our Readymix production sites across the Midlands.
Role Details
- Based in Lockington near Derby, travelling to multiple RMX plants within the Midlands region.
- Day‑time, Monday‑Friday schedule with overtime and on‑call duties as required.
- Company van provided; travel is regional only (no nights away).
- Hands‑on maintenance of industrial electrical plant; work on mobile plant sites.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Fault‑finding, repairing and maintaining industrial electrical plant.
- Responding to breakdowns, keeping downtime to a minimum.
- Driving continuous improvement and asset reliability.
- Working with PLC systems, drives and motors.
- Updating and using the CMMS, supporting safe and efficient production across multiple sites.
Key Requirements
- Practise, safety‑focused electrician with experience in heavy industry (Readymix, cement, quarrying or similar).
- 18th Edition (BS7671) compliance.
- NVQ Level 3 / Apprenticeship / ONC in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with LV systems, PLCs, AC drives & motors.
- Predictive / proactive maintenance mindset.
- Comfortable working on mobile plant sites.
- Full UK driving licence (max 6 points).
- Experience with CMMS, TPM, RCA/FMEA and inspection & testing is highly desirable.
