We are currently looking for an Environmental Permitting Manager to join our friendly team based in the East Midlands. The successful candidate will be based in Quorn, Leicestershire; however, you will have the opportunity to work remotely.
Please note this position is a 12-month fixed-term contract.
What you'll be doing:
- As the successful Environmental Permitting Manager, you will work in a small friendly team within the Land and Natural Resources (L&NR) function supporting the business on a diverse range of projects to obtain permits and licences for land, air and water for our quarries, concrete, asphalt and block plants.
- Provide technical advice on the permits and licences required for new and existing operations in collaboration with the Operational, Strategic Planning and Circularity teams.
- Management and delivery of a wide variety of permits and licences applications.
- Identifying changes to regulations and guidance that require new permits, or impact on our existing permits and advise the business on actions required to become compliant.
- Providing expert advice to the business relating to technical issues relating to permit conditions, or associated environmental legislation.
- Build and manage relationships with the regulators.
What we are looking for:
- Good communication skills.
- Be a self-starter.

- A relevant degree in an environmental or science related field.
- Practical experience in managing permit applications and liaising with the Environment Agency and other regulators.
- Knowledge of environmental legislation including the Environmental Permitting Regulations, guidance, practices and procedures.
- Experience in the minerals, waste or water sector.
