We are currently looking for an Environmental Permitting Manager to join our friendly team based in the East Midlands. The successful candidate will be based in Quorn, Leicestershire; however, you will have the opportunity to work remotely.
Please note this position is a 12-month fixed-term contract.As the successful Environmental Permitting Manager, you will work in a small friendly team within the Land and Natural Resources (L&NR) function supporting the business on a diverse range of projects to obtain permits and licences for land, air and water for our quarries, concrete, asphalt and block plants.
On a day-to-day basis, the Environmental Permitting Manager responsibilities will include:
- Identifying changes to regulations and guidance that require new permits, or impact on our existing permits and advise the business on actions required to become compliant.
- Providing expert advice to the business relating to technical issues relating to permit conditions, or associated environmental legislation.
Ideally, the successful candidate for Environmental Permitting Manager will have:
- Strong project management skills.
- A relevant degree in an environmental or science-related field.
- Managing permit applications and liaising with the Environment Agency and other regulators.
- Knowledge of environmental legislation including the Environmental Permitting Regulations, guidance, practices and procedures.
- Experience in the minerals, waste or water sector.
