Tarmac is looking for a Road Surfacing Scheme Supervisor to oversee paving gangs delivering works across the East Midlands Region. If you're driven by safety, quality and results and thrive in a fast-moving, hands-on environment we want to hear from you.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Leading surfacing schemes from handover to sign-off, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality delivery.
  • Managing paving gangs, plant, materials and subcontractors to meet programme and specification.
  • Owning site safety: risk assessments, investigations, step-ins and full compliance with Tarmac Health and Safety standards.
  • Preparing and maintaining site packs, cost/value data, BPO and HAV records.
  • Coordinating resources including labour planning, holidays and sickness cover.
  • Acting as the key link between site teams, clients, material planning and waste management.
  • Attending contract handovers, CVR meetings and supporting optimisation initiatives.
  • Building strong, trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders.

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience supervising road surfacing / highways works.
  • Strong leadership style with the confidence to manage live sites and multiple stakeholders.
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach with sharp commercial awareness.
  • CSCS and SMSTS qualifications (essential).
  • NEBOSH and HNC in Construction / Civil Engineering (desirable).
  • Flexible, organised and able to adapt quickly to changing site demands.
  • A role-model for teamwork, communication and continuous improvement.
