Mechanical Maintenance Fitter (Plant) – Tarmac Cross Green Asphalt Plant – Leeds

Hours: 48 hours per week Shift Pattern: 06:00 – 16:00 Monday to Friday plus overtime (some nights and weekend work)
- What you’ll be doing
- Lead planned and reactive mechanical maintenance to minimise downtime
- Diagnose faults across conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, crushers and screening equipment
- Carry out breakdown repairs quickly and safely to keep production on track
- Support continuous improvement and root cause analysis
- Undertake welding and fabrication work to a strong standard
- Own small projects and improve plant reliability
- Work with contractors and suppliers on site
- Use CMMS systems to record maintenance activity
- Champion Health & Safety and safe working practices at all times
- What we’re looking for
- Experience within heavy industry, plant or manufacturing environments
- Strong skills in fault finding and mechanical repairs
- Confidence working on bearings, drives and rotating equipment
- Welding and fabrication capability
- Comfortable using maintenance systems and basic IT tools
- A proactive mindset with a strong focus on safety and performance
- Recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship (preferred)
- ONC/HNC (advantageous)
