We are looking for a motivated, hands-on Multi Skilled Operative to join our team at Hints Sand and Gravel Quarry in Tamworth, Staffordshire. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, thrives outdoors and is keen to learn new skills within a growing industry. You will receive full training, work in a varied and active role and be supported to develop your skills operating mobile plant such as loading shovels and dump trucks - all within a team that values progression and development. This role is easily accessible from Lichfield, Burntwood, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Atherstone, Aldridge, Walsall, Rugeley, Burton-on-Trent, Nuneaton and surrounding areas.
What you'll be doing:
- Reporting to the Section Manager you will play a key role in keeping the site running safely and efficiently.
- Operating mobile plant such as dump trucks and loading shovels.
- Supporting production targets and managing stock levels.
- Carrying out inspections, reporting defects and assisting with maintenance.
- Ensuring all plant meets safety standards.
- Maintaining high housekeeping standards across site.
- Working collaboratively to deliver materials on time.
- Following all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures.
What we're looking for:
- Experience in an industrial, outdoor or similar operative/labouring role.
- Interest in plant, machinery or quarry operations (preferred).
- Mobile plant licences - shovel or dump truck (preferred).
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Flexible approach to working hours.
- Full UK driving licence and basic IT skills.
No quarry experience? No problem. We provide full training and support for the right person.
