Are you an experienced and dynamic Chargehand looking for your next position? We are looking for a Chargehand to join the team at our Packed Products site at Killerby, Northallerton. Within this role you will assist the Site Supervisor and Site Manager in overseeing daily site operations, ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols, achievement of production targets, and maintenance of quality standards. You will provide hands-on leadership on the shop floor by coordinating operatives, managing shift activities, and supporting plant troubleshooting and maintenance and serve as the primary point of contact for operatives, promoting clear communication and ensuring seamless workflow across shifts.
Main Responsibilities
- Leading a Packed Products Team
- Delivery of site handovers
- Manage aspects of daily production ensuring efficient manufacture and optimum levels of OEE are maintained, driving operations performance through KPI's
- General housekeeping; ensuring that the highest standards are maintained in accordance with What Good Looks Like (WGLL) and the CRH Lifesaving rules
- Role modelling an exemplary approach to Health and Safety, contributing proactively to a safe working environment and working collaboratively to build a culture of continuous improvement
- Taking pride in all work completed and being determined to succeed
- Effectively engage with Contractors. Main point of contact ensuring compliance with site specific rules (Safe System of Work / RA's etc)
The Ideal Candidate
- You will be able to demonstrate proven experience working within a similar production and despatch environment.
- Good communication skills and good numeracy
- Holding a mobile plant licence for diesel counterbalance forklift truck would be advantageous, but not essential
- Strong communication and team player ability
- Previous experience of manual handling would be a bonus
