The predicted salary is between 35000 - 45000 £ per year.

Reporting to the Operations Manager and Senior Operations Manager, you will play a key role within the maintenance team at the Hayes Asphalt Plant in London. You will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), fault finding, and reactive maintenance across all areas of the asphalt plant, including rail discharge systems.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant statutory legislation and company Safety, Health and Environmental standards.
  • Conduct plant safety and maintenance inspections, and develop safe systems of work including method statements, risk assessments and dynamic risk assessments.
  • Perform electrical fault finding, maintenance, and repair work to support operational performance targets.
  • Record maintenance activities and work requests within Tarmac's maintenance system.
  • Assist with commissioning of new plant and equipment.
  • Participate in regional and local maintenance meetings to support continuous improvement.
  • Liaise with site management to coordinate required repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Support plant operations running 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including participation in an on‑call rota and occasional night, weekend and bank holiday working.
  • Work across multiple asphalt plants within the region as required, with a company van provided for travel requirements.

Qualifications

  • An HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
  • A proactive and positive approach to Health, Safety and Environmental standards, with confidence to challenge unsafe practices.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, ideally within a heavy industrial environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience within an asphalt or similar industry is advantageous, but not essential.
