Keep the plant running. Shape reliability. Make a real impact.

At Tunstead Stone, one of the UK’s most significant heavy industrial sites, we’re looking for a Maintenance Planner who thrives on structure, detail and delivery. This is a pivotal role at the heart of our engineering operation - balancing safety, efficiency and reliability in a complex mechanical and electrical environment.

If you’re an experienced maintenance professional who enjoys turning plans into performance and wants to work somewhere your decisions genuinely matter, this role is for you.

What you’ll be doing

  • You’ll own and drive maintenance planning across the stone operation, ensuring work is planned, resourced and executed safely and efficiently.
  • Working closely with maintenance, reliability and production teams, you’ll:
  • Develop high quality mechanical and electrical maintenance plans aligned to the Midlands Maintenance Strategy
  • Use CMMS and SAP to create accurate work orders, task steps, resource estimates and spares requirements
  • Plan and support planned, reactive, shutdown and emergency work, minimising downtime and improving reliability
  • Maintain asset history, PM schedules, drawings and statutory inspection planning
  • Coordinate materials, spares and contractors to ensure work is right first time
  • Support major outages and CAPEX projects with structured planning and engineering input
  • Take ownership of site stores, stock control and storage processes
  • Champion safe systems of work and ensure all safety documentation is in place before execution
  • Provide data, insights and KPI reporting to support continuous improvement and RCA activity

What we’re looking for

  • You’ll bring a strong maintenance background and the confidence to operate in a heavy industrial environment.
  • You’ll ideally have:
  • A time-served apprenticeship (Level 3) in a maintenance engineering discipline
  • ONC/HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience planning maintenance work in heavy industry or materials handling environments
  • Strong knowledge of CMMS systems, SAP and Microsoft Office
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical data
  • A solid understanding of UK health, safety and maintenance legislation
  • Electrical regulations BS7671 (desirable)
  • NEBOSH or IOSH (desirable)
  • Project or outage planning experience (desirable)
