Reporting to the Operations Manager and Senior Operations Manager, you will play a key role within the maintenance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), fault finding, and reactive maintenance across all areas of the asphalt plant, including rail discharge systems.
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant statutory legislation and company Safety, Health and Environmental standards.
- Conduct plant safety and maintenance inspections, and develop safe systems of work (method statements, risk assessments, dynamic risk assessments).
- Perform electrical fault finding, maintenance, and repair work to support operational performance targets.
- Record maintenance activities and work requests within Tarmac’s maintenance system.
- Assist with the commissioning of new plant and equipment.
- Participate in regional and local maintenance meetings to support continuous improvement.
- Liaise with site management to coordinate required repairs and maintenance activities.
Candidate Requirements
- An HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
- A proactive and positive approach to Health, Safety and Environmental standards, with confidence to challenge unsafe practices.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, ideally within a heavy industrial environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience within an asphalt or similar industry is advantageous but not essential.
Additional Information
- Role supports plant operations running 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; flexibility required, including participation in an on‑call rota and occasional night, weekend and bank holiday work.
- May be required to work across multiple asphalt plants within the region.
- A company van will be provided to support travel requirements.
