We're looking for a Maintenance Planner to join our Engineering team at Tunstead Quarry in Buxton, Derbyshire. This key role keeps our plant running safely, reliably and efficiently. Easily commutable from Derby, Macclesfield, Stockport, Glossop, Chesterfield, Leek, Ashbourne, Bakewell, Sheffield, Stoke-on-Trent and beyond.
What You’ll Do
- As our Maintenance Planner, you’ll be the central point for coordinating all maintenance activity across the site.
- Plan, prioritise and schedule all preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance.
- Build weekly and monthly plans, ensuring labour, materials and permits are in place.
- Lead shutdown planning, contractor coordination and post-review actions.
- Maintain accurate asset data, job plans and maintenance histories.
- Analyse maintenance performance to identify trends and drive improvements.
- Ensure all work meets CRH safety standards and legislative compliance.
- Work with procurement to manage parts, stock levels and supplier performance.
- Produce clear KPIs and performance reports.
- Support maintenance strategies for new or modified equipment.
What We’re Looking For
- You’ll thrive in this role if you’re organised, analytical, and experienced in maintenance planning within heavy industry.
- Maintenance planning experience (mechanical/electrical/process equipment).
- Engineering apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (desirable).
- Strong planning, prioritisation and workflow management skills.
- Ability to interpret maintenance and performance data.
- Knowledge of safety legislation (PUWER, LOLER, Quarry Regs, EAWR).
- Experience creating job plans, scopes and resource estimates.
- Understanding of maintenance strategies (preventive, predictive, condition-based).
- Familiarity with risk assessments, permits and isolation procedures.
- CMMS experience (ideal).
- Shutdown planning experience (desirable).
- IOSH/MPQC/reliability training (desirable).
