We have an exciting opportunity at Tarmac Colchester DSM – Dry Silo Plant. We are looking for an Operative to join the team.

The role is part of a dynamic and inclusive environment. We welcome people from diverse backgrounds.

The successful candidate will report to the Plant Manager and be responsible for ensuring plant safety, plant availability, production output and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Meeting daily production target requirements
  • Reporting data for quality purposes
  • Moving, loading and unloading product from the plant and vehicles
  • Meeting customer service requirements in terms of accurate loading and timely vehicle turnaround
  • Continuous improvement of performance standards
  • Continuous improvement towards plant and production methods
  • Good housekeeping

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working within an industrial, factory or similar environment
  • Experience as a forklift truck operative, multi‑skilled operative or labourer
  • Good communication skills
  • Desire to develop operative and supervisory skills
