We're looking for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our team at Harden Quarry in Biddlestone, near Rothbury, Northumberland. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in quarrying, construction, manufacturing, industrial operations, plant operation, labouring, or similar environments who wants to develop their skills and progress their career.
What You'll Be Doing
- Operating mobile plant, including Loading Shovels, Excavators and Mobile Crushers
- Supporting the safe and efficient production of aggregates
- Conducting routine plant inspections and day-to-day maintenance
- Training and operating static plant equipment to optimise production performance
- Carrying out weighbridge duties where required
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure customer orders are delivered on time and to specification
- Supporting the achievement of daily and weekly production targets
- Maximising plant availability and operational efficiency
- Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards across the site
- Promoting and championing a strong safety-first culture
- Following health, safety, environmental and quality standards
What We're Looking For
We're interested in individuals who are practical, safety-conscious, team-oriented and keen to learn. Ideally you will have experience gained within the quarrying, aggregates, construction or other heavy industry operating mobile plant such as Loading Shovels, Excavators or Crushers however if you're open to working on site using heavy Plant equipment then we can provide training.
Suitable candidates will also have:
- Positive approach to adhering to health and safety procedures and safe systems of work
- Ability to do general plant maintenance and operational tasks
- Capability to work as part of a team but also to work independently when required
- Flexible and adaptable approach to changing operational needs
- Confidence to communicate issues and solutions to supervisors and colleagues
- Experience using IT systems and digital tools
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and performance
- Full UK driving licence
- Loading Shovel Licence (preferred)
- Excavator Licence (preferred)
- Knowledge of Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), HIRA and Permit-to-Work systems (advantageous)
Located near Rothbury, Northumberland, this role is also accessible from Alnwick, Amble, Cresswell, Ashington, Otterburn, Wooler, Bamburgh, Blyth and surrounding areas.
