We are currently looking for a Road Surfacing Supervisor to join our Yorkshire team at Tarmac. This regional Supervisor role is easily accessible from Sheffield, Worksop, Leeds, Wakefield, Castleford, Barnsley, Bradford, Huddersfield, Doncaster, Goole and the surrounding areas. We are working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing a range of surfacing schemes across motorways and the local network
- Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety policies
- Communicating effectively with gangs/forepersons through daily briefings
- Overseeing site paperwork and key administrative tasks
- Planning and supervising operations to meet specifications and avoid rework
- Monitoring cost efficiency and performance
- Supporting and motivating teams
- Building strong customer relationships
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in the surfacing industry
- CSCS card and ideally SMSTS (minimum SSSTS)
- Knowledge of asphalts, SHW standards and BS 594987
- Experience supervising teams and project work (motorway experience desirable)
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Commitment to Health & Safety
- Flexibility for night and weekend work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
