I’ve partnered with a specialist strategy and consulting firm at the forefront of telecoms, digital infrastructure, and technology transformation to help them hire an experienced Consulting Director to join their senior leadership team. This role is ideal for a senior consulting professional who thrives on winning new business, leading high-impact strategy projects, and shaping the growth of a boutique, high-performing consultancy.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and oversee projects end-to-end—from initial client discussions and proposal development to final delivery.
- Drive business growth by identifying and developing opportunities with both new and existing clients.
- Take ownership of flagship (“trophy”) clients and explore new practice areas where the firm is expanding.
- Mentor and develop consulting talent—guiding senior and junior consultants through project delivery, reviews, and career progression.
- Shape firm strategy and policy, identifying operational improvements and leading their successful implementation.
- Champion strategic initiatives that strengthen the firm’s market presence and internal capabilities.
- Contribute at leadership level, engaging actively in management and board meetings to drive firm-wide success.
About You
We’re looking for a commercially driven, strategic thinker with a consulting pedigree and deep sector expertise. You should bring:
- 10–20 years’ experience in consulting, with a strong focus on telecoms, data centres, or adjacent digital infrastructure sectors.
- A strong academic background, ideally with a minimum 2:1 (or equivalent) from a leading university; postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
- A robust consulting skillset—exceptional client communication, team leadership, analytical and organisational capabilities.
- Proven ability to lead multiple large-scale strategy or transformation projects simultaneously.
- A strong record of sales success, both in acquiring new clients and expanding existing relationships.
- A collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset, committed to helping grow a high-performing, values-driven consulting business.
