A backed Fintech organisation is undergoing a fundamental transformation, not just of its technology platform but also in how the business approaches technology and operational delivery. Five primary value streams have been defined: Deal Onboarding & Activation, Facility Lifecycle Administration, Covenant & Compliance Management, Amendment & Consent Management, and Client Service & Relationship Management. The purpose of this role is to develop the capability to lead this model.
This Management Consultant (Product) will act as the capability builder, ensuring that the business side of this new model is as robust as the engineering side. Without this role, the delivery model risks becoming an engineering-led reset with business teams as passive recipients rather than active owners.
- Embed Agile and Outcome-Focused Ways of Working
- Support the Architecture and Capability Review
- Educate and Coach the Business on Product Ownership
- Design the AI and Digital Readiness Backlog
Key requirements include:
- Management Consulting and Financial services experience, with an understanding of the regulatory and operational context of a financial services environment, including data governance, audit trail requirements, and multi-regulator obligations.
- Value stream and capability thinking, with experience in business architecture or value stream mapping, and the ability to connect technology delivery to business outcomes through a traceable chain.
- Coaching and capability building, with a track record of establishing product management capability in organisations that previously lacked it.
- Agile delivery leadership, having led agile delivery in a complex, partner-heavy engineering environment, and understanding the practical application of Scrum theory when working with third-party delivery partners.
- Stakeholder authority, capable of operating confidently alongside C-suite stakeholders (COO, CTO, CEO) and shaping decisions.
- Platform or Fintech product experience, having worked on a platform business transitioning from operational software to a commercially extensible, API-first product, ideally in a PE-backed environment with an aggressive growth agenda.
- Comfort in a private equity environment, understanding the pace, accountability, and commercial alignment requirements of a PE-backed business, and recognising the real value creation agenda with inflexible timelines.
