Main purpose of job:
The Line Cook plays a crucial role in the kitchen team. Responsible for running a section of the kitchen and ensuring the consistent preparation and presentation of the dishes on that section from start to finish.
Main Accountabilities:
- Food Preparation and cooking: Prepare and cook menu items according to Tarka recipes and standards. Ensure that all dishes are plated and presented in a manner as directed by the Head Chef or Sous Chef. Monitor food quality, freshness, and portion control to minimise waste and maximise efficiency.
- Section Management: Coordinate with other members of the kitchen team to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of orders. Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the assigned section, including proper storage and labelling of ingredients.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices. Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the Head Chef for prompt resolution. Assist in conducting regular inspections and audits to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and follow defined safety protocols at all times.
