Clinical Teaching Fellows play a key role in delivering Undergraduate Medical Education for University of Bristol medical students (Years 2, 3, and 5).
Responsibilities:
- 9 teaching sessions per week: Teaching, tutoring, and pastoral support.
- 1 clinical session per week: In an area of your choice.
- Opportunity to complete a funded Postgraduate Medical Education Certificate (from an approved list).
- Involvement in educational research.
- Develop competence in teaching and build teaching skills through a Certificate in Medical Education.
- Develop and deliver the MBChB curriculum for Medical Students in year groups 2, 3, or 5.
- Work closely with the Undergraduate Medical Education team to plan and deliver units.
- Support other year undergraduate teaching programmes, including development of teaching materials and enhancement of learning within the clinical skills lab with other CTFs.
- Act as a professional role model and mentor for the student body during their placements.
- Supervise the generic professional behaviours/skills expected of students, demonstrating these at all times.
- Contribute to and participate in the assessment process for medical students.
- Maintain flexibility, professionalism, and cooperation within the evolving needs of the clinical academy.
- Attend university meetings in Bristol or examine in other academies as necessary.
Qualifications:
- GMC registered.
- At least 2 years of experience working in the NHS as a Doctor.
- Interest in teaching and medical education.
