We are proud to announce that we are now inviting applications for a Small Animal Neurology Intern. This role is the perfect opportunity to work alongside two highly experienced Neurology Diplomates and expand your skills, knowledge, and clinical experience. The internship runs for 12 months and consists of varying shifts to suit the needs of a busy multidisciplinary hospital, including 1 in 4 weekend cover for Neurology and HDU services, and occasional out‑of‑hours work.
About the Hospital
Hamilton Specialist Referrals is an established multidisciplinary veterinary hospital located in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. The hospital operates 24/7 and offers advanced imaging (1.5T MRI, CT), multiple operating theatres, a high‑dependency unit, electrodiagnostic equipment and a comprehensive rehabilitation and physiotherapy facility.
Responsibilities
- Active involvement in client communication and patient care is expected, along with participation in consults and medical and surgical case management.
- Interns are encouraged to engage in case discussions with senior supervising clinicians, residents, and the senior nursing team, contribute to a positive and inclusive environment, and maintain accurate records and written correspondence.

As a Veterinary Intern you will gain valuable exposure to a referral or advanced clinical environment, working collaboratively with experienced veterinary surgeons, nurses and support teams to deliver high‑quality patient and client care. This role is designed to support your clinical development, build confidence in managing more complex cases, and deepen your understanding of evidence‑based veterinary medicine. You will actively participate in ward rounds, case discussions and clinical governance activities while being supported by senior clinicians and mentors.
