  • Job Summary

The Graduate Engineer will participate in a structured engineering development programme designed to provide practical experience across manufacturing, laboratory testing and customer service functions.

The role will develop a broad understanding of the design, manufacture, operation and support of the company's industrial inkjet printing systems.

The successful candidate will complete a series of departmental placements before progressing into a permanent role within the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production & Materials Control (3 Months)
  • Gain an understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows.
  • Assist with the assembly and testing of production equipment.
  • Support materials planning, inventory control and stock accuracy.
  • Learn production documentation and engineering change procedures.
  • Observe and contribute to continuous improvement activities.
  • Develop an understanding of product structure and manufacturing methods.
  • Ink Laboratory, Samples & RMA (8 Months)
  • Assist in the testing and evaluation of inks and print performance.
  • Prepare customer print samples and record test results.
  • Support investigations into product quality and performance issues.
  • Assist with Returned Materials Authorisation (RMA) inspections and reporting.
  • Participate in fault investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and technical documentation.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality and Production departments.
  • Service Department (12 Months)
  • Assist with the diagnosis and repair of industrial inkjet printers.
  • Support equipment installation, commissioning and servicing activities.
  • Provide technical support to customers under the guidance of experienced engineers.
  • Prepare service reports and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Assist in identifying recurring product issues and recommend improvements.
  • Develop competence in mechanical, electrical and electronic fault finding.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with company quality and safety procedures.
  • Other Responsibilities

  • Maintain high standards of quality and professionalism.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across all departments.
  • Complete training activities as required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Compulsory Skills/Education/Experience
  • Degree in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering.
