As we embark on a digital transformation journey, we are seeking a talented and proactive Electrical System Digital Transformation Intern to join our team for a 12-month placement, starting in March or April. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in the realm of digitisation and electrical engineering.
What You Will Be Doing
- Digital Solutions Implementation: Collaborate with the electrical engineering team to deploy digital solutions and technologies aimed at optimizing the performance and monitoring of electrical systems.
- Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data from electrical systems to identify patterns, trends, and potential areas of improvement. Use this data to inform decision-making and suggest strategies for enhanced system performance.
- Security: Work with the security team to ensure that digital solutions and data transmission within electrical systems are secure and comply with industry standards.
- Research and Innovation: Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering and digital technologies. Propose innovative ideas and concepts that can be applied to improve our electrical systems.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of all digital transformation processes, including design specifications, implementation details, and testing procedures.
- Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct testing and troubleshooting of digital solutions to identify and resolve any technical issues that may arise during the implementation phase.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, data analysts, and electrical technicians, to ensure seamless integration of digital solutions with existing infrastructure.
- Presentation and Reporting: Prepare periodic progress reports and presentations to update the management team on the status of digital transformation projects and key outcomes.
Requirements
Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore, it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.
Successful Candidates Will Be Able To Demonstrate The Following
- Enrolment in a relevant Bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field;
- Understanding of electrical systems, principles, and components;
- Basic knowledge of digital technologies, IoT, and data analysis;
- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Java) is a plus;
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities;
- Demonstrated self-motivation and the ability to take initiative.
This Job Request will be allocated to the projected Joint-Venture scope towards a leading European player in space.
Security Clearance
You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
