The Summer Internship Programme gives you the opportunity to gain hands‑on, real‑world experience in your chosen discipline. Over the course of 12 weeks, you’ll immerse yourself in a structured development programme designed to provide practical insight into life as a civil engineer and support your journey toward becoming a Chartered professional. You’ll work alongside one of our specialist engineering teams on live projects, gaining a solid foundation in engineering principles and a clear understanding of what drives our business and how we deliver exceptional results.

We’re looking for enthusiastic candidates currently in their third year of a Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering degree. This placement offers undergraduates the chance to join one of our highly skilled teams for 6–12 weeks during the summer. The role is based in our London office in Southwark, conveniently located near London Bridge, Waterloo, and Blackfriars stations.

Teams Available:

  • Structures – Permanent works structural engineering design of buildings
  • Civil – Highway, masterplanning, building infrastructure and sustainable drainage design
  • Geotechnical – Geotechnical design and assessment across buildings and infrastructure
  • Civil Structures – Design of bridges, railway stations and other assets in the infrastructure sector
  • Construction Engineering – Design and planning of temporary works and construction methodologies
  • Advanced Technical Services - Apply cutting‑edge technology and methodologies to solve complex and unusual engineering problems

  • On track to complete an MEng in Civil Engineering by 2027.
  • A flexible and innovative self‑starter who is passionate about developing new skills.

  • Empathy and listening skills to help you truly understand our clients’ requirements.
  • A well‑rounded individual—whether you’ve worked in a bar, captained a sports team, or volunteered for a charity, we value diverse experiences and unique perspectives.
  • Available to join the 8‑week programme running from X 2026 to X 2026.
