Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Working with Service Users

To deliver effective key working, ensuring agreed support plans are implemented, progress is evaluated, and future housing plans are considered. To promote the safeguarding of vulnerable adults. To co-produce working practice risk management plans based on risk assessments from statutory and/or referring services and to share these with clinical teams. To provide ‘hands on’ practical domestic support as required. To liaise in a professional and respectful manner with relevant agencies and stakeholders.

  • Communication and Information

To co‑coordinate meetings and ensure service users have a comprehensive induction including access to the Service User Handbook and relevant documents. To report to the Project Manager any concerns relating to the health, safety and wellbeing of service users.

  • Quality

To contribute to further improving the quality of service delivery.

  • Finance and Administration

To assist with monthly rent and welfare benefits returns and to ensure that these are completed accurately and submitted on time.

  • Operational Matters

To carry out all duties and responsibilities in accordance with JUST’s policies and procedures and to report any known breaches to the Project Manager as appropriate. To attend and contribute to staff meetings, as well as requesting regular performance meetings to review your own development.

  • Other Duties

Undertake any other duties and responsibilities appropriate to the post, as may be required.

Person Specification

  • Qualifications and Experience

Experience of working with vulnerable adults with complex needs including homelessness, mental health, substance misuse problems and learning disabilities. Undertaking and completing tasks in a timely fashion.

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Convey service user information in an accurate, succinct and informative manner both written and verbal. Establish and maintain rapport and liaise appropriately with service users, team members, clinical teams, significant others, and any other external support services. Identify support needs of service users, be able to write SMART support plans and implement. Identify potential new/unknown risks posed by service users with the appropriate skills to report and/or co‑produce mitigation strategies with clinical teams and significant others. Promote and support the safeguarding of vulnerable adults and take action as appropriate. Work with people with challenging behaviours and safely de‑escalate where appropriate.

Under the Asylum and Immigration Act 1999, JUST has a responsibility to ensure that all employees are eligible to work in the UK from the start date. We do not provide sponsorship.

Induction

During Induction you will receive the following: Staff Handbook, Terms and Conditions of Employment, Access to Policies and Procedures, Core training schedule to be completed prior to confirmation in post.
