We are seeking a team of four Graduate Assistants working within the boarding houses, getting to know the girls and building a relationship of trust with them. Graduate Assistants are on duty and present in the school boarding houses, providing pastoral care alongside the House Parent, Deputy House Parent, and Matron. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience of working with young people. The role demands high levels of self-motivation, enthusiasm, commitment, and the ability to actively encourage pupils to partake in a wide range of activities. You will be expected to play a full part in the busy life of our boarding school. Terms are short and intense and holidays are long so that batteries can be recharged. On-site accommodation is provided, as are free meals in term time. The School is located in beautiful grounds in the centre of thriving Caversham, and there are excellent transport links including from Reading station, which is within walking distance.
Main Duties Include:
- Assist in the smooth running of the House, liaising closely with the House Parent/s and their team
- Plan and deliver a range of engaging evening activities for the boarders
- Provide academic support with student prep and revision
- Assist Matrons with domestic duties
- Assist the girls with house routines and rotas
- Be a role model and listening ear
- Be resident on the school site in provided accommodation
