About PAA Pictet Alternative Advisors (PAA) is a prominent alternative investment specialist and a wholly owned subsidiary of the Pictet Group. With expertise spanning hedge funds, private equity, and global real estate, PAA constructs, manages, and advises on portfolios of alternative investment solutions tailored for institutional and private clients. The Pictet Group currently manages USD 46bn in alternative assets, including more than USD 30bn in private equity.

Responsibilities

  • Deal origination, market analysis & screening – build pipelines and source deals primarily in the UK & DACH, conduct primary market research and assist in evaluating potential acquisition targets.
  • Deal execution – contribute to the complete deal process for new investments, including all due diligence areas (financial, commercial, legal, tax, technology, etc.), draft investment memos and set up financial models.
  • Portfolio monitoring – support management of a diversified portfolio of direct investments, collaborate with portfolio company staff and external consultants to implement value‑creation initiatives and prepare quarterly performance reports.

Qualifications

  • Graduated (or due to graduate) from a top‑tier educational institution.
  • Previous internship or full‑time experience in demanding environments such as private equity, investment banking or consulting at leading firms.
  • Proven strong financial modelling skills and proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) and familiarity with AI tools.
  • Strong ability to analyse complex financial data and market trends, combined with a proactive, solution‑oriented approach to identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly, build strong relationships, and collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken, with German language skills being a plus.

The role offers hands‑on exposure to the full UK and European deal‑making process, rapid learning and direct training from professionals with extensive experience in private equity, investment banking and consulting. The team operates in an entrepreneurial, start‑up‑style environment within one of the world’s leading private financial institutions. Minimum availability: Candidates must be available for a minimum of 4 months.
