About The Tax Reporting Team: The Tax Reporting team focuses on a broad range of corporate clients, meeting tax advisory and compliance needs in a fast-changing regulatory environment. Our corporate clients range from listed multinationals to large entrepreneurial businesses and domestic owner-managed businesses.
Role purpose
As a school leaver apprentice, you will undertake a four-year training contract in the Tax Reporting/Corporate Tax area, supporting the provision of corporate tax compliance and advisory services for a portfolio of clients. You will learn to prepare corporation tax computations and returns and provide bespoke advice on clientsβ tax affairs, with opportunities to work with colleagues across tax disciplines.
During Your First Three Years
- Learn how to use Alphatax (tax software) and related processes to prepare corporation tax computations and returns and to prepare tax numbers for financial statements.
- Develop an understanding of financial statements and client business to complete corporation tax computations.
- Obtain relevant information from other departments and clients, building effective communication with both.
- Help write reports and client deliverables to explain issues, risks, and solutions in clear language.
- Support the team with client relationships and requests.
By The End Of Your Fourth Year
- Have a structured client portfolio focusing on tax reporting to manage.
- Work on a range of tax reporting and advisory engagements across UK tax, covering a range of technical areas.
- Develop a strong technical knowledge of UK tax legislation.
- Coach and lead more junior team members on advisory engagements.
- Understand how different corporate entities operate across sectors and develop client relationships to deliver on repeat engagements.
- Begin to manage tax reporting engagements, including planning, budgeting, and project management across service lines.
- Develop an understanding of control and risk management procedures.
- Support business development to help bring new client wins to the team and your portfolio.

- On track to or have achieved A-levels, BTEC or equivalent qualifications. Excellent academics are valued, but we consider your whole profile, including other experiences and growth.
