About the role

Working with our world class Projects and Business Change Management team, you’ll play a hands-on role in delivering the next generation of safer and better performing railways. With many important projects being deployed all across the business, you could find yourself working on Engineering Assets, Safety, Environment or Information Management. Wherever you’re placed, you’ll gain valuable experience in delivering projects on time, on budget and to a high quality, as well as managing risks. You’ll also build relationships with stakeholders throughout the business and wider industry and deliver business changes throughout our different regions and routes.

Who you are matters. You’ll need to be in your penultimate year at university, and on track to achieve at least a 2:2 in any degree subject. We’re looking for curious, self-motivated individuals with an excellent work ethic and the ability to identify unique approaches to how we work. You should have an eye for detail and the ability to approach complex problems pragmatically. Other qualities we’d like to see are:

  • High organisation skills
  • Good teamwork
  • Ability to empathise and high emotional intelligence
  • Great personal resilience
