The Mechanical Engineering Graduate Programme is a key talent development initiative at King & Moffatt Building Services.

This engineering-focused programme ensures that graduates gain industry knowledge and experience before pursuing a career within various sectors and departments at King & Moffatt.

The two-year programme comprises five postings, designed to provide cross-departmental knowledge and develop leadership skills:

• Operations (office & site)
• Design / BIM (office)
• Practical hands-on skills (Carrick-on-Shannon training centre)
• EHSQ (office & site)
• Commercial/Estimating (office & site)

What You Can Expect From The Programme

• Understanding contract specifications, employer requirements, and construction drawings
• Familiarity with procurement processes, including preparing requests, updating trackers, and liaising with suppliers
• Knowledge of service schematics/P&ID for water, heating/cooling, ventilation, and electrical systems
• Learning to size hydraulic and ventilation systems on live projects
• Using software for cable calculations
• Understanding electrical installation methods and pipework components
• Gaining insights into EHSQ procedures, risk assessments, and method statements
• Preparing variation orders and issuing tender packages

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
