The Role: Our Marketing & Communications team plays a central role in shaping how people experience British Land’s places — from strategic brand activity and digital communications to immersive events and campaigns that bring our destinations to life. As a Summer Intern, you’ll gain hands‑on experience supporting the strategy, creation and delivery of marketing activity across our portfolio. You’ll work closely with specialists in social media, content curation, brand and customer engagement and events to help tell compelling stories about our destinations and connect with diverse audiences across the UK. What You’ll Do: In the Marketing team, you’ll contribute to live projects and get a behind‑the‑scenes understanding of how we bring our destinations to life across our online channels. You’ll also take part in additional team‑specific learning and exposure opportunities to help you build your skills and confidence. Alongside your day‑to‑day work, you’ll also follow our internship timetable, which includes tours, talks and networking sessions designed to give you a tangible feel for life at British Land. You will have the opportunity to explore a career in marketing/real estate to inform your post‑university career choice and give you a better understanding of the industry.
- Support social media content creation — helping draft posts, source & capture imagery/video, and develop creative ideas for digital channels, ensuring great storytelling and brand consistency
- Monitor social media activity, track performance and gather insights to help optimise campaigns
- Support app content creation & campaign communications – helping write blog posts, event promotions and local news on our customer‑focused apps with over 28,000 users
- Contribute copy, visuals and ideas for social media, apps, emails and websites
- Utilise digital tools to harness channels – Hootsuite, Microsoft Dynamics CRM system, WordPress
- Research digital trends, audience behaviours and competitor activity to support content and wider marketing strategy
- Support the planning and delivery of on‑site events across our campus destinations
- Contribute creative ideas for campaigns, placemaking activities and customer engagement initiatives
About You: Currently in their 2nd or 3rd year of study, from any degree discipline – business management, marketing or equivalent is preferred. Curious, enthusiastic and eager to learn about marketing, events and the built environment. Outgoing, team‑oriented with a positive and open approach. Proactive self‑motivated individual with an ability to think on their feet and take on responsibility. Excellent communicator — both written and verbal — with a creative, analytical and solutions‑focused approach.
