How to prepare for a job interview at TargetJobs UK

Know Your Numbers

Brush up on your accounting and finance fundamentals. Be prepared to discuss key concepts, such as budgeting and reconciliations, as well as any relevant coursework or projects you've completed. This will show your passion for the field and your readiness to contribute.

Excel Skills Are Key

Since the role requires essential IT skills, particularly in Excel, make sure you can confidently talk about your experience with spreadsheets. Consider preparing a few examples of how you've used Excel in your studies or previous roles, like creating financial models or analysing data.

Embrace the Values

Familiarise yourself with MFT's core values: compassion, curiosity, collaboration, openness, honesty, and inclusivity. Think of examples from your life or studies that demonstrate these values, as this will help you connect with the interviewers and show that you're a good cultural fit.

Prepare Questions

Interviews are a two-way street, so come armed with thoughtful questions about the role and the team. Ask about the types of projects you'll be involved in or how the finance team collaborates with other departments. This shows your genuine interest in the position and helps you assess if it's the right fit for you.
