A fantastic opportunity has arisen to work at Loughborough Schools Music Department, recent finalists in the Outstanding Music Department of the Year Award. We are seeking to appoint a Graduate Music Assistant to work term‑time only from September 2026 until July 2027 (11 months). In this position, you will gain extensive experience working with aspiring and ambitious young musicians towards high‑quality performances in this large and vibrant music department. We have several pupils in a number of national ensembles, and many of our top scholars go on to attend the country's most prestigious conservatoires and universities to read music.
Responsibilities
- The Graduate Music Assistant will be a versatile and accomplished pianist, with strong sight‑reading skills.
- Work closely and cooperatively with staff and pupils alike to maintain high standards in our exceptionally busy schedule of concerts and other musical events.
- Elements of the role will include piano accompaniment for exams and concerts, delivering theory and aural sessions along with some administration.
- There will also be opportunities for you to contribute to the broader life of the Loughborough Schools, based on your particular strengths and interests.
