Working in the press office involves liaising with press and influencers, managing events, and supporting day-to-day activities to portray the brands effectively. At L'Oréal, press coverage, PR events, and working with influencers are at the heart of everything we do. Representing our 35 international brands, each with its own voice, is a challenge that demands creativity and tenacity.

Whether it’s a PR launch, helping organise an influencer trip, or generating ideas for a creative PR mailout, you’ll be creating the human face of the L’Oréal brand. It’s a role that requires solid teamwork and an enthusiastic personality—this is as much about fun as hard work.

Working in the press office, you will help portray our brands to the press and influencers. This may include day-to-day liaison on specific products, offers to readers, or managing large-scale events. As an intern, your principal accountability would be to provide support to the press office in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day business. You would be responsible for your own live projects within the team, with exposure to senior management.

Day-to-Day You Will:

  • Manage product mail-outs, coming up with creative ideas for send-outs to encourage social sharing and press coverage.
  • Manage media lists.
  • Help with supporting PR and influencer events, from PR launches to trips.
  • Work with external PR agencies on a day-to-day basis.
  • Handle press calls and liaise with journalists.
  • Monitor influencers, newspapers, and magazines for coverage and scan for distribution, to share PR team wins with wider teams.
  • Help the team with social media; this could include captions, taking images for social channels, and scheduling.
  • Help the team with sourcing influencers for paid partnerships, creating content briefs, and speaking to influencer agents.
  • Order product, stationary orders, post, couriers & press cuttings.
  • Collaborate with the media team on paid media campaigns.

What does success look like?

  • Operational Excellence: Mastering responsibilities and ensuring the smooth operation of the press office.
  • Influencer & Media Engagement: Proactively contributing to engaging content and managing relationships with journalists and influencers effectively.
  • Creative Input: Generating innovative ideas for mail-outs and social media content that drives brand visibility.

To Be Successful, You Will Need To Have:

  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Understanding of the beauty business.
  • Understanding of communications tools.
  • Capacity to understand the bigger business picture.
  • A technical mind but keen to work within the heart of a business.
  • Numerate and PC literate: in particular with great Excel skills.
  • Excellent networking skills and the ability to interact with all areas of the business.
  • A good knowledge of the beauty influencer landscape.
  • A creative eye for social media content creation.

Eligibility: You must be in your second year at university on a course which enables you to take an Industrial Placement Year.

To Apply: Once you click apply, you’ll be asked some questions to check your eligibility for this role. These will include questions about your current situation, whether you’re happy with the salary, location, etc. Our Assessment Centres this year will mostly be in person, running from when applications open until the roles are filled. These Assessment Centres are specific to function, so please be patient if you don’t get invited straight away—it might just be because your function’s Assessment Centre date is later in the recruitment period!
