Arup’s Host Cities team in London focuses on planning, designing and delivering major events and related infrastructure, ensuring long‑term legacy benefits. The role supports both client and stakeholder delivery, bringing people together around shared aspirations and facilitating processes and narratives.

Responsibilities

  • Bring people together to align on shared aspirations and facilitate stakeholder processes.
  • Support research and analysis, producing reports, graphics and technical drawings throughout project lifecycle.
  • Assist in developing new digital ways of working, promoting the benefits of AI and digital planning for clients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (urban designers, architects, planners, engineers) across architecture, transport, sustainability and event operations.

Qualifications, attributes and skills

  • Undergraduate degree in Architecture, Urban Design, Planning, Business, Urban Studies or Geography (post‑graduate desirable).
  • Technical design portfolio required.
  • Interest in sport, sustainable development, heritage, culture, transport and social infrastructure.
  • Excellent drawing and presentation skills, including 3‑D modelling and graphics.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp and other CAD software desirable.
  • Desirable experience in project management, GIS, data management, statistical analysis, AI image generation, programming and other digital skills.
  • Analytical ability to interpret client and stakeholder needs and apply a holistic design approach.
