Our Europe operations are located in London and Dublin and are part of our Global Banking & Markets (GBM) business. GBM provides a full range of investment banking, credit and risk management products and services relevant to the financing and strategic development needs of our clients.
Programme Overview: Scotiabank offers an exciting opportunity to join the London-based internal Finance team of a Canadian Bank commencing in June 2026. This 10-week programme is designed for students in their first year of study (or second year of a four-year degree) who are eager to learn and have a passion for Finance. The programme is rotational and will provide the opportunity to gain varied experience in the different areas that make up a modern Finance division in an Investment Bank. This internship will allow you to deepen your understanding of how an Investment Bank's Finance function works and learn what it takes to be a trusted business advisor.
What You Can Expect:
- Assist with the preparation of key regulatory reporting, tax and financial reporting returns
- Assist with Daily Limit Monitoring and investigating differences with the business
- Provide analysis to support advice to the business on managing capital and liquidity resources
- Create and prepare payment runs to ensure timely payment of expenses
- Providing detailed analysis on results and providing insight to business leaders to help make decisions
- Working on key initiatives which will help to optimise business performance
- Managing expenses in the business to drive business performance
- Gain a better understanding of the regulatory environment that Financial Institutions work within
- Ensuring a flawless controls environment
- Assist with the implementation of efficient processes ensuring continuous improvement of processes & reporting
- Develop financial business analysis skills working with the Projects team to plan and test for computing solutions whilst meeting appropriate requirements of efficiency and robustness
- Complete an intern project assignment and present it to the wider team
- Any other ad hoc work efforts assigned by management

Who We're Looking For:
- You are a first-year undergraduate student (or second-year on a four-year degree)
- You are available for a 10-week internship between mid-June to end of August 2026
- You have a demonstrated interest in and knowledge of the financial markets
- You have a basic understanding of financial statements, accounting and variance analysis
- You have an analytical mindset with a passion for critical thinking and working collaboratively
- You have excellent interpersonal skills and looking to work as part of a diverse and inclusive team
- You are eligible to work in the United Kingdom
