You will work on one of the most exciting and significant sustainable energy projects that our country has ever seen, being at the forefront of the UK's climate change agenda and energy policy. Sizewell C is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for at least 60 years.
The Opportunity: Weâre recruiting for students to join our Supply Chain Industrial Placement programme at our Suffolk office. Taking on a real job at a junior level, youâll have the opportunity to learn through handsâon experience under the guidance of highly skilled and experienced colleagues.
What weâre looking for:
- Discipline in Supply Chain, Business Management, Logistics, Economics, Mathematics, Finance or Geography.
- A genuine interest in the energy industry and a passion for sustainability and being a part of making a difference.
- An interest in working in major nuclear and infrastructure programmes.
- Open minded, adaptable and quick thinking to succeed in a changeable project environment.
- A strategic mindset that brings innovative ideas.
- Effective interpersonal skills, demonstrating high ethical behaviour, integrity, humility, and character.
- Effective communication skills to manage stakeholders whilst prioritising competing demands.
What You Will Be Doing: Over the course of this 12âmonth programme, youâll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in handsâon learning, working on realâworld challenges that directly impact the energy industry. Most of your learning will be on the job, supported by your mentor and the teams around you. Youâll have a chance to apply your academic training to genuine industry problems while completing modules that contribute towards your degree.
Previous students on a Supply Chain Industrial Placement have been involved in projects such as:
- Supporting procurement processes from expression of interest to contract award.
- Supporting the contract management of projects in a portfolio of work, undertaking activities such as the assessment of applications for payments and change control.
- Providing commercial support to the project management team in the effective delivery of contracts.
- Reporting commercial data to senior leaders in the business.
Security Vetting: To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting.
