As a Trainee Product Analyst, you will support the journey to becoming a key part of ii’s Product Team and delivery function. You will learn through a blend of structured training covering customers, product, data, market, and technology, alongside practical hands‑on experience. You’ll contribute to the delivery of roadmap items across the business, supported by Product Analysts and Product Managers. Working closely with your squad, stakeholders, and the wider Product Team, you’ll help deliver and maintain key customer journeys that align with the product roadmap.
Day‑to‑day, you’ll assist in managing the product backlog and ensure that the vision, objectives, key results and KPIs are clearly understood and aligned. You’ll support the gathering of requirements from stakeholders by creating analysis documentation, epics and user stories, and you’ll collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary squad and subject‑matter experts to design and deliver solutions. You’ll work across multiple channels and systems depending on business needs, building strong knowledge of our business and technical ecosystems. You’ll take a data‑led approach to driving outcomes and continuous improvement. By the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll take responsibility for improving customer journeys and experiences across your products, helping to create the UK’s leading investment platform. Acting as a key link between business and IT delivery, you’ll proactively tackle day‑to‑day issues and identify iterative improvements to key journeys.
Key Responsibilities / What You’ll Do
- Support Product Analysts in managing the product backlog using change methodologies and frameworks.
- Work within product/project workstreams and act as the link between Business and IT Delivery.
- Use market, competitor and industry awareness to support tactical delivery against the Product Roadmap.
- Assist the Product Team with stakeholder communications, including creating operational readiness communications.
- Identify and communicate with key stakeholders as required.
- Collaborate with UX designers to ensure user stories translate into aligned designs, creating seamless, usable and accessible journeys.
- Participate actively in all Product Ceremonies and engage with the immediate and broader team.
- Apply knowledge of key objectives, KPIs, data types and available systems to inform decision‑making.
- Take leadership under guidance of Product or Senior Product Analysts, demonstrating a keenness to improve knowledge and skills.
- Prioritise tasks effectively and develop understanding of product prioritisation tools and techniques.
- Provide cover at squad/project level for a Product Analyst.
- Step up to define problems and see solutions through to implementation.
- Demonstrate a keenness to learn about ii products and platforms, providing support to Product Analysts.
- Develop knowledge of key ii Infrastructure and Platforms.

About The Apprenticeship
As a Trainee Product Analyst, you will develop technical knowledge and professional skills through a structured apprenticeship programme that will kick‑start your career. Through the Level 4 Digital Product Manager apprenticeship you will learn and grow technical knowledge in the following areas:

Requirements
- To be 18 years old as of 1 September 2026
- Be a UK/EEA citizen or have lived in the UK/EEA continuously for the last three years
- Eligible to work in the UK and not in full‑time education
- Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent) grades A* to C (new grades 9 to 4)
- Must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level in a similar subject
