Shape the numbers. Shape the future.

In Finance at Lloyds Banking Group, we do a lot more than balance the books. We’re part strategists, part storytellers, part tech‑savvy problem‑solvers. We guide big decisions, steer smart investments, manage risk, and keep the UK’s biggest bank on the front foot.

This isn’t your average “add it up and file it away” finance job. The financial world is changing at speed – new tech, new competitors, shifting customer needs – and we’re right there, shaping what comes next. We dive into data, track the markets, stay ahead of regulation, influence how products are built, and make sure the Group’s financial health doesn’t just stay fighting fit, it grows.

As a Finance Graduate, you won’t be watching from the sidelines with a spreadsheet. You’ll be right in the thick of it, bringing insights that shape where we put our resources, how we manage risk, and how we deliver value for millions of customers and shareholders.

Three years. Four big rotations. Unlimited learning.

Over three years, you’ll rotate through four placements – in Finance and beyond – getting a panoramic view of how the bank ticks (and how to keep it ticking smoothly).

Including

  • Insight, data and analysis – using new technology to forecast future performance.
  • Core Finance – crunching the numbers in reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Business partnering – nurturing relationships between finance and the business.
  • Non‑Finance – the opportunity to work outside of Finance with one of our many business teams, getting closer to customers.

You could be spending time in teams such as Audit & Assurance, Risk & Governance, Strategic Business Management, Management Accounting, Finance and Reporting and Taxation or Treasury.

What your work could look like

  • Spotting market trends and helping shape our investment strategy.
  • Designing controls to keep the Group’s finances rock‑solid.
  • Turning complex figures into clear, actionable insight for senior leaders.

Across the programme, you’ll get a 360° view of how finance powers the bank, work on projects with real strategic impact, and be part of tech‑driven transformation that’s redefining what a modern finance function can do.

The skills you’ll master

By The End Of The Scheme, You’ll Be

  • Finance‑fluent – creating accurate, timely, decision‑ready financial info.
  • Commercially sharp – understanding how we generate revenue and create value.
  • Insight‑driven – spotting patterns in data that others miss.
  • Tech‑ready – hands‑on with analytics tools, reporting platforms, and transformation projects.
  • Influential – building trusted relationships and using your analysis to spark decisions that make a strategic difference.

You’ll also join multi‑skilled teams where finance meets technology. Because in modern finance, how we work is just as important as what we deliver.

By The End, You’ll Have

  • A respected professional qualification.
  • A powerful mix of technical know‑how, strategic thinking and commercial awareness.
  • The network, confidence and skillset to take your career anywhere in finance – and beyond.

We’ll pick up the tab for training and exam costs, and give you the time, support, and encouragement to succeed – from dedicated study leave to mentors who’ve already passed the same exams.
