Graduate Operations Programme

Our Graduate Operations Programme is designed to develop the next generation of operational leaders within SIG Roofing. Over two years, you’ll gain hands-on experience across branches, regions, and central teams — building the skills, confidence, and commercial awareness needed to progress into junior management roles. If you’re ambitious, adaptable, and keen to learn how a large, fast-paced distribution business really works, this is a great place to start.

Job Summary

As an Operations Management Graduate, you’ll gain first-hand experience of how SIG Roofing operates on the ground. You’ll rotate across branches and functions, developing a deep understanding of operational excellence, people management, and regional performance. You’ll work closely with Branch Managers and Regional Managers, supporting day-to-day operations and contributing to key projects and initiatives that drive efficiency, service, and results. This programme is designed to prepare you for a future leadership role within branch or regional operations.

Programme Structure

  • Branch & Operations
    Developing a thorough understanding of branch operations, including yard activity, customer service, sales processes, and branch management. Supporting operational improvements and projects that enhance branch and regional performance. Learning how operational decisions impact service, safety, cost, and profitability.
  • Projects & Key Initiatives
    Supporting divisional and regional initiatives aligned to business priorities. Gaining exposure to change management and continuous improvement activity. Working with Regional Managers on strategic operational projects.
  • Central Services
    Completing a placement within Central Services to understand how support functions contribute to branch and regional success. Building a rounded view of how the wider business operates.

Your Development

This programme is designed to stretch and support you. Across the two years, you'll:

  • Build strong operational and commercial foundations.
  • Develop leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Gain exposure to multiple regions, branches, and leadership styles.
  • Progressively take on greater responsibility and accountability.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For
We’re looking for potential, resilience, and leadership capability.

  • A minimum 2:2 degree in a business-related subject.
  • Recently graduated (within the last 3 years).
  • Willingness to relocate and work across the UK.
  • Full UK driving licence (use of own car desirable).
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Full driving license and access to a car or ability to get to branch locations and occasional overnight stays may be needed.
