The London office of AFME is seeking a Graduate to support the Equity Capital Markets and High Yield/Leveraged Finance divisions within the Capital Markets team. AFME’s Equity Capital Markets Division promotes the growth and development of the UK and EU equity capital markets, including IPO, listing rules, prospectus rules, retail investor issues, broker research, and PRIIPs. Activities include monitoring and shaping industry developments in regulations, policy, and market structure that directly and indirectly impact these markets. AFME’s High Yield Division promotes the growth and development of the pan-European high yield and leveraged finance markets, including loans and private credit. In all Capital Markets Divisions, AFME staff address market issues, respond to consultations with key stakeholders such as the ECB, Bank of England, European Commission, FCA, HMT, Member State governments, the European Parliament, corporates, investor groups, and trading platforms. Divisions also publish standard forms and recommendations and host industry events to build consensus.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop knowledge of Capital Markets, particularly Equity Capital Markets and High Yield/Leveraged Finance.
- Assist with committee administration and governance, attend meetings, take minutes, and support committee secretariat management.
- Complete assigned Capital Markets projects and contribute to resulting positions and recommendations.
- Assist with member advocacy efforts and communication with regulators and policymakers.
- Support production of draft position papers, consultation responses, standard form documents, research, data analytics, and surveys.
- Assist with conferences, seminars, webinars, and other AFME events.
